  13. i recently installed tex etc. on my new silicon graphics machine
  14. running IRIX 5.1.1 (a variant of sysV)
  15. the configure routine doesn't set up INSTALL correctly:

  17. (1) i have no option -c on install
  18. (2) the syntax of my `install' is different from the
  19. one on my sun: it apparently has to be
  20. install -f <dir> <file>
  21. which produces <dir>/<file>
  22.  
  23. otherwise i would like to say that installation is much simpler than the
  24. last time i did this job, for my sparc station.
